AW SHUCKS! It's the Louisiana Corn Festival

Bunkie will celebrate the 28th Annual Corn Festival on June 12,13,& 14,2014. The Louisiana Corn Festival begins Thursday, June 12th and ends Saturday,June 14 at midnight. Thursday June 12th is Family Carnival Night, Bracelet 5pm-10pm $20

The festival was started by the Bunkie Chamber of Commerce in 1987 to promote Bunkie. The name Louisiana Corn Festival was given to honor the impact that agriculture has on our economy and a Corn Farmer is honored each year. This festival has something for all ages. Opening ceremonies are Friday at 5:00 PM and at that time the large carnival, food booths and arts and craft booths are open for business. There are live bands each night with a street dance, games, contests, lizard races, corn cooking contest, children parade and our big city wide parade. There is tennis and softball tournaments going on all weekend. Our talent contest will be Saturday at 3:30 PM with cash prizes for the winners. The festival�s family friendly atmosphere makes the Louisiana Corn Festival a must do for people looking for a fun weekend. All proceeds of the festival are put back into the festival, its grounds and projects throughout the city. So follow the rows of corn down to Bunkie, where you are sure to have a shucking good time.
